Random life // Sunday BrowniesπŸ˜‹

Image
How can you get more random than a post about brownies??πŸ˜†πŸ€”πŸ˜‚ The little brownie incident we had today cracked me up so much that I couldn't resist sharing it...I hope it makes you smile and even laugh today.πŸ™ƒ  I was in the middle of making meatballs for our Sunday spaghetti lunch(or dinner...whatever you call eating at 2:30😁) and rolling them into little balls on a pan. Jared walked in and commented: Jared: "Those are some weird looking cookies you're making." Me: *takes hint* "Would you like me to make you a dessert?" Jared: *points to my cup sitting on the counter* πŸ‘‡πŸ» Jared: "I would be able to do that πŸ‘†πŸ» a whole lot easier if you did." By this time, I've lost it.πŸ˜‚ I have never been so uniquely asked to make a dessert before. Brownies is my go-to dessert to whip up and Jared happens to love them(who doesn't?!), so I proceeded to get the ingredients together. As I was stirring everything together, I began to treasure the moment ...

March Concerts!

Image
We recently enjoyed three Southern Gospel concerts near us! SG groups don't often get down our way so I'm really thankful God allowed these opportunities this month to hear our favorite music!😊 Every night was so very encouraging as each group put Christ in the center of their concert and we heard songs of God's salvation and the reward of heaven one day. I was reminded as I sat there and listened with joy to the encouraging music...that this amazing music was just a very small shadow of the glorious music all the saved will sing around the throne in heaven one day.🀍 Truly what a day that will be!  Enjoy a few photos for a recap!😁🎀🎢🎹 On our way to hear... The Kingsmen Quartet! We discovered their music only recently and instantly fell in love with it. Highly recommend their latest album, Unstoppable God. And here we are waiting for...The Collingsworth Family to begin singing!!! L-R: John, our "adopted" cousin Ben, yours truly, and Jacob. It was an absolutely...

Spring100 Walking Challenge!

Image
I wanted to do a post to share a fun walking challenge with you! Spring100 is a walking/running challenge in which you walk 100 miles from the first day of Spring to the first day of Summer. We have participated in it for several years now and it's super fun and a great incentive to get in some exercise in the pretty Spring weather!☀️🌳🌸 There's also a t-shirt prize(picture above) if you complete the 100 miles! 100 miles may sound like a lot, but it only boils down to 1.1 miles a day for about three months! If you would like to learn more information about the challenge or sign up, here is the link to the website:  Spring100Challenge.com   There's also a feature of a friend portal where you log your miles, which adds some fun competition as you can see how each other are doing on their miles.πŸ˜‰ Here is my friend link ( Grace - Add Friend ) for any of you who would are going to sign up(or who have already signed up) and would like to be friends on the portal!😁 Spring100 be...

✨ SHINE like a STAR ✨

Image
I wanted to go a little deeper behind the name  Shine!  I briefly gave the background in the last post as to why I decided to go with that theme for this blog, but I wanted to dedicate a whole post to it.  There is a certain couple and song that became very dear to me this year that inspired this theme of Shine! The couple may come as a shock; they are Roy and Dale (Evans) Rogers. You may know them from their famous westerns, which is where I first learned about them. I quickly fell in love with their shows and as I love learning facts about favorite actors, I began to delve more into their story and it changed my life. I want to dedicate some later posts on reviewing their autobiography/books, but for now, let me just say that they were two amazing people whom God brought together and then ultimately brought them to Himself to use for His glory. Roy and Dale loved Jesus with all their heart and they loved people too, especially children. Even in their busy life of...

Welcome!!

Hello and welcome to my blog, Shine! For those who do not know me, here is a little bio😊 : My name is Grace Silvey, I am 18 years old, and I live with my family in Southwest Arkansas. Jesus Christ saved me 6 years ago when I was 13 and I am so grateful for His love in dying for me.✝️ I'm the youngest of seven siblings, and the aunt of two very adorable kiddosπŸ₯° Music is my biggest passion(specifically Southern Gospel😁) and I love to play piano/sing. Most days will find me working on Bible studies, music practice, house chores that never seem to endπŸ˜‰πŸ€―, taking a walk in God's beautiful creation, volunteer work for Librivox(an online, free audiobook website), reading, hanging out with the famπŸ‘¨‍πŸ‘©‍πŸ‘§‍πŸ‘¦πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ€ͺ, going to any Southern Gospel group concert nearby, and dreaming about going out West...πŸ€ πŸŽπŸŒ…  So, I wanted to Q + A some questions you might be asking, like... Why did you start your blog? - I blogged for a couple of years on our family blog and really enjoyed it, so ...
