 Hello and welcome to my blog, Shine!

For those who do not know me, here is a little bio😊 : My name is Grace Silvey, I am 18 years old, and I live with my family in Southwest Arkansas. Jesus Christ saved me 6 years ago when I was 13 and I am so grateful for His love in dying for me.✝️ I'm the youngest of seven siblings, and the aunt of two very adorable kiddos🥰 Music is my biggest passion(specifically Southern Gospel😁) and I love to play piano/sing. Most days will find me working on Bible studies, music practice, house chores that never seem to end😉🤯, taking a walk in God's beautiful creation, volunteer work for Librivox(an online, free audiobook website), reading, hanging out with the fam👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🤍🏡🤪, going to any Southern Gospel group concert nearby, and dreaming about going out West...🤠🐎🌅 




So, I wanted to Q + A some questions you might be asking, like...

Why did you start your blog?

- I blogged for a couple of years on our family blog and really enjoyed it, so I guess I just decided to start my own!

What is the purpose of your blog?

- Short answer: to glorify God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, "Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." I believe everything we do, even as basic as eating breakfast, should ultimately honor our Creator who is sovereign over all. So, I desire to honor Him, praise Him, lift up His name with everything I do on this blog and I pray that every post will encourage you and point you to Jesus. "To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever." (Psalm 30:12)

What will you post on your blog?

- Good question!😂 No, seriously...I am planning on posting a variety of things. Some themes I'm currently thinking: Encouragement/Scripture, random life, book/movie reviews, music, and we'll see what else!😁

Is there any story behind your blog name? How did you come up with it?

- The name came through some life lessons God has been teaching me this year...of shining His light in whatever place God has me. You don't have to be traveling the world proclaiming His love to thousands to be doing His work...you can be in your hometown, in your little world proclaiming His love to whoever He places in your life and that be just as important. You see, it's not the place or position...it's the heart. God can do wonders with an obedient heart! So, that is such an important lesson God is teaching me right now and I wanted that to be a central theme here. We can learn to become His bright lights together!✨✝️

So, yeah! There's a little introduction to Shine! and I'm looking forward to beginning a blog journey with you all.🤍

An obedient and loving heart is more pleasing to God than earthly possession or position, and can bring us true joy. We can grow in this worthy endeavor together through the grace of God!   I wanted to go a little deeper behind the name  Shine!  I briefly gave the background in the last post as to why I decided to go with that theme for this blog, but I wanted to dedicate a whole post to it.  There is a certain couple and song that became very dear to me this year that inspired this theme of Shine! The couple may come as a shock; they are Roy and Dale (Evans) Rogers. You may know them from their famous westerns, which is where I first learned about them. I quickly fell in love with their shows and as I love learning facts about favorite actors, I began to delve more into their story and it changed my life. March Concerts!

We recently enjoyed three Southern Gospel concerts near us! SG groups don't often get down our way so I'm really thankful God allowed these opportunities this month to hear our favorite music!😊 Every night was so very encouraging as each group put Christ in the center of their concert and we heard songs of God's salvation and the reward of heaven one day. I was reminded as I sat there and listened with joy to the encouraging music...that this amazing music was just a very small shadow of the glorious music all the saved will sing around the throne in heaven one day.🤍 Truly what a day that will be!  Enjoy a few photos for a recap!😁🎤🎶🎹 On our way to hear...
