Recording Studio - Day 1
Yep!π For those who may not know yet...we are in the process of recording a cd!!ππ€© We had always talked about doing this one day but never thought it would be a reality, until some friends with their church generously offered to help financially support us making a cd. We were blown away and so very grateful to God for this opportunity!❤️ The Lord led us to a studio about two hours north of us, TML Sound. It has been a blessing to work with our producer, Mark Little, and to see his love for the Lord in all that he does.
Ready to record!
Amanda and John had to be in separate rooms because their instruments were miced. Both Jared and I were plugg-ins so we were together the whole time. It was fun to talk to each other over the mics in each room and hear through the headphones. I could almost imagine myself speaking over the intercom to my crew on a B-17 during WWII...π

All in all, it was a fairly stressful day. We started out by recording the 4-5 songs that had all the instruments playing together and that was difficult to match timing. We realized that we really need to work on our timing!π¬ It was a little discouraging to not get as many songs done the first day as we hoped, but the remaining songs were mainly just the piano and bass which we hoped would take quicker than all the instruments. The Lord helped us through each difficulty and we were able to fully finish three songs, with another song partially finished. I also recorded a piano solo but was having difficulty playing it on the keyboard that was there and kept making a mistake at one part. I was able to run through it fairly perfect once with one or two minor mistakes. I have been trying to practice it to death here at the houseπ
, and hopefully I will be able to run through it again whenever we go back and make a better recording.
Some pretty sky on the way back reminded me to "lift up my eyes to the hills -- from whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth." -Psalm 121:1
Stay tuned for Day #2!π2️⃣π€π§
