Recording Studio - Day 2

 

Day 2 - Saturday, April 12. All smiles and ready to go!😁🎧

Amanda's recording room was right next to me and Jared's and she got this shot one time when we were recording(you can't see it but I am playing the keyboard). 

Lunch break and pic! We had a neat little God story happen to us while we had lunch. We went outside and had a picnic lunch on the tailgate of Jared's truck, and in the middle of doing that, John's phone rings. It was one of his lawn care buddies that he had met at a mower expo a couple years ago, but the odd thing was that he's never called John before. John answers and his friend starts saying that he just wanted to call and encourage John today and our family with our music to keep doing what we're doing. Now, he knew we sang but he had no idea we were in studio that day. We were like, "WOW!" That was super encouraging after our rough day the day before. God is amazing to send us little messages of encouragement just when we need them!🙏🏻🤍 It reminded me of the line in a song that says:

"Sometimes a simple note, handwritten by a brother

The soothing words speak peace into my life 

Something stirs me deep, a reminder that I need...

Jesus loves you, Jesus loves you, someone unashamed, living out their faith

Jesus loves you, He really really loves you

I got all my piano songs recorded by mid afternoon and was able to just relax in a sound booth while the others recorded a couple bluegrass songs. 

One of us would always sing along with each song for a reference vocal to help keep the instruments on track, and I got to do that once!

All in all, Saturday was a much smoother day than Friday! We were able to get all the tracks recorded...though, we have decided to redo one of the songs when we go back for vocals, as well as my piano solo, so we have two left with eleven finished!👏🏻 All the glory goes to the Lord and we are so thankful for what He has allowed us to accomplish so far!🙏🏻 We do not have a definite date for going back yet. We had originally planned for this weekend but we have not had much time to practice due to an ever crazy life🤯, and we need to focus on practicing our program for our upcoming concert in Wisconsin(!!), so we made the decision to wait a month or so before going back. It will most likely be July when we go back. 

So yeah! Those were our recording days. I hope you enjoyed following along and I look forward to posting the vocal days in a couple of months, Lord willing!
