Family Road Trip Pt.2 - Wisconsin
We got to St. Louis mid afternoon on Wednesday, stayed Thursday, and then headed on to Wisconsin Friday morning. I really enjoyed the drive up as we passed through a lot of Illinois. I loved the flat lands and seeing the horizon.π We arrived in Wisconsin late afternoon and had dinner at our friend's house, the Hoffmann's. They were the ones behind getting us to come up and we are so grateful for their hospitality!
We stayed at some fancy, neat campers on Fort McCoy campground in Sparta. It was very cool to stay close to an army base! Helicopters flew over a couple times a day, and we heard machine gun drill fire at night, and the bugle every morning and night.π
We enjoyed the walking trails as well!
We had two campers - the guys stayed in one and then the parents and us girls stayed in the other.
Saturday morning we headed over to Gospel Baptist Church and got the sound equipment set up.
The riverboat cruise was pretty amazing! I don't remember exactly how long it lasted, but I think it was about 1 1/2 hours. We sighted several bald eagles along the way as well as passing close to the afore mentioned barge.π
La Crosse was right by the Minnesota border so we drove over the state line to get a picture in MN!
Sunday morning worship.✝️
We really enjoyed singing to the people of Gospel Baptist Church(hopefully they enjoyed listeningπ) and it was wonderful to worship the Lord together through song! You can find the concert at this link: The Silvey Family - GBC
After the concert, some friends from the area who had come to the concert came over to our campers and we enjoyed dinner and fellowship with them. Most were Spring100ers, so we took a walk with them!
We passed by a playground and immediately everyone 28 and younger ran over to have fun on it, while the 30 year olds and older just stood and watched us with their arms crossed.π
We eventually got everyone up there for a picture.π

We left Wisconsin Monday afternoon after a ladies trip to some cheese/sewing stores and a guys trip on the army base! We stopped at Grandpa & Grandma's on the way home and then made the last leg of the trip Tuesday. It was a very packed full vacation but we made so many memories and had a great time!
