๐ŸŒจWinter Storm๐Ÿฅถ

Last Monday I learned to my delight that we were in for a winter storm over the weekend! They were predicting a good amount of ice which would make it likely we would lose power at our house. So, we packed some things and headed for Pap and Nana's for the storm. It started Friday evening and I woke up yesterday morning to this beautiful, white sight...⬇️๐Ÿ˜

I got outside as quick as I could!
I wrote "SNOW" but it is actually mostly sleet.๐Ÿ˜‚
I had just got some winter boots a couple weeks ago and I hoped that would bring on some snow...๐Ÿ˜❄️
Jared, Sarah, and I worked on some mailers while we were snowed in. Jared is the chairman of our county's Republican committee and Sarah is a member with yours truly about to become one.๐Ÿ˜ At our next meeting, Jared is having an Arkansas Supreme Court Justice come and speak(he is a current Justice and running for reelection). Our committee is pretty small, so Jared had the idea of sending flyer mailers to Nevada county Republican voters for the purpose of getting the word out about this particular meeting and hopefully to gain some more members. He selected about 550 addresses so now we are working on getting those sent out. We did this a lot with my dad's campaign when he ran for Senate a couple years ago, so it's been fun to get to do something like this again.๐Ÿ˜ We got about 400 envelopes addressed yesterday. I now have several zip codes around here memorized that I did not before.๐Ÿ˜„

My phone didn't take a very good picture of how beautiful it was outside last night.๐Ÿ˜ The sky was brighter than a usual night sky and the sleet had frozen over so it felt like you were walking on a frozen lake.
Hot chocolate energy while working on some more addresses after dinner.๐Ÿ˜‹
After completing 193 addresses for the day(๐Ÿฅ๐ŸŽ‰), I treated myself with some ice cream. Neapolitan w/chocolate syrup, chocolate chips & oatmeal raisin cookies crumbled on top...delicious perfection.๐Ÿ˜Œ

I'm also at my grandmother's house in town over this storm. While I love the country, there is something charming and kind of Christmas-photo-picturesque about a lovely snowfall in a neighborhood of houses.

Wow! You and Jared and Sarah have been getting a hand workout addressing all those envelopes! Hot chocolate sounds like just the thing! Thanks for your post, Grace!

  2. YAY, how exciting, Grace!! It is so, so beautiful!!๐Ÿ˜ Thank you so much for posting! We got some snow overnight here, which was such a sweet surprise...it wasn't on the forecast (just a 20% at 8:00 last night), so it was like God gave us a sweet surprise while we were sleeping!๐Ÿค—
