๐ถThe Me I'll Never Know๐ถ
A song that has been on my mind recently is "The Me I'll Never Know" sung by the Kingsmen Quartet. It talks of the story our lives might have told without God's salvation. I praise God that I was raised in a Christian home and heard and accepted the gospel at a young age, but my story could easily have been different. Around me I see so many lives broken and lost and I know it's only by the grace of God I am not one of those hopeless souls. I don't say all this to be prideful about how my story has played out...though I have no dramatic story of how the Lord saved me from sin, I say with Paul that I am the chief of sinners saved only by the grace of God. But the unknown of how my life could have been so different strongly moves me. May we never take for granted the blessings He bestows on us.
The Me I'll Never Know
Vs. 1 Who knows just where I could have been, bound by the weight of all my sin
So far from grace so far from hope
Who knows just where I'd be right now, lost with no way to turn around
A life so empty, a life so broke
Chorus: But that's the me I'll never know, that's the life I'll never live
That's the road I'll never walk, all because of what He did
So I thank God for stories left untold, that's the me I'll never know
Vs. 2 I'm not saying that I'm not wearing scars, I've been places that I knew broke God's heart
But mercy says I'll never let you go
Chorus: That's the me I'll never know, that's the life I'll never live
That's the road I'll never walk, all because of what He did
So I thank God for stories left untold, that's the me I'll never know
Bridge: He made my life worth a living and all because of His forgiveness
Chorus: That's the me I'll never know, that's the life I'll never live
That's the road I'll never walk, all because of what He did
So I thank God for stories left untold, that's the me I'll never know
